Frequently Asked Questions

What is the difference between private and shared wine tours in Italy?

If you’re looking for a personalized, exclusive wine experience in Tuscany, a private wine tour is the ideal choice. You’ll have a dedicated guide, a customized itinerary based on your preferences, and the opportunity to visit wineries at your own pace—without sharing the experience with other travelers. This premium option is perfect for those who want a tailored, intimate journey through Italy’s wine regions.

Are group wine tours a good option?

Yes! Small group wine tours offer a more budget-friendly way to explore Tuscany’s renowned wineries while still enjoying expertly guided tastings. These tours typically accommodate small groups (up to 8 guests), making them a great choice for social travelers who don’t mind sharing the experience with others. However, they follow a set itinerary and don’t offer the same level of flexibility as private tours. Still have questions? Contact us to find the perfect wine tour for your trip to Italy!

If I wish to buy wine, will the wineries accept credit cards?

Yes all the wineries get credit cards. Be sure to notify your credit card company when traveling abroad as they sometimes block cards when charges are made from other countries.

Can I pay at the time of the tour?

A credit card is always required to confirm your tour, and cash payment in Euro (not US Dollars) may only be made by prior arrangement before the tour begins. If you are interested in paying cash, please let us know.

I am wondering if you know any wineries where I can taste and purchase wine where they will send it back to US for me. I would like to pick up a case or two and not have to worry about carrying the wine to and from the airport.

You will find some wineries that are well organized to do that service, but the big problem is the cost of shipping and the custom fee you are subject to pay in USA. Unless you are not going to buy a very expensive wine, I don't think it is convenient! Chianti Express is a good shipping company that give this service all over Tuscany. Here you can download their form to ship wine.

I am interested in a Brunello di Montalcino wine tour, however, there is only two of us. Is there any interest among other visitors to combine a tour with us to reduce the cost?

Of course, if you wish to make more affordable your wine experience you should take my Montalcino shared wine tour which starts from Florence at 9.00 a.m. and Siena at 10:10 a.m every Tuesdays.
