Founded in 2004 by Florentine sommelier Vittorio Del Bono Venezze, Italy & Wine was born from a lifelong passion for wine, food, and the Italian lifestyle. For over 20 years, we have personally selected outstanding wineries and crafted authentic wine tours designed to offer unique, high-quality experiences.

The Team

Vittorio del Bono Venezze
Founder & Sommelier

Born in Florence in 1962, I discovered my passion for wine through the Professional Sommelier Course, earning my AIS certification. I later worked as a wine guidebook publisher and journalist, deepening my knowledge through travels across Italy, especially in Chianti and Tuscany. Over the years, I’ve built strong ties with both renowned and hidden boutique wineries. My desire to share this passion led me to found the Florence Wine Academy and, since 2004, to create and lead exclusive wine tours with Italy and Wine. I look forward to welcoming you on a memorable journey.

Hilary Grass
Sommelier & Tour Guide

I’m a native English speaker born and raised in Florence. After earning a degree in history, I fell in love with wine and the stunning Tuscan countryside — so much so that I decided to turn this passion into my profession. I became a certified sommelier and began working at a winery, where I led cellar tours and promoted wines. Later, I joined Italy and Wine, bringing my experience and growing my expertise even further. Now, I can’t wait to share it with you as I guide you on one of our unforgettable tours.

I’m a half-Italian, half-Austrian certified sommelier with a passion for wine, food, and travel. Speaking four languages has taken me around the world, including work at top Châteaux in Australia and France. Now back in Florence, I lead wine tours across Italy with Italy and Wine, eager to share this journey with you—because, as the French say, "In water we see our reflection; in wine, someone else’s heart.

Tour Guide & Wine Enthusiast

Born in Venice, I began my journey in tourism there before expanding my wine expertise in Milan, Bologna, London, and Verona. Since 2005, I’ve worked in wine events with major brands like Aperol, Campari, and Soave Wines. With a Ph.D. in Cultural Studies and a Master’s in Music Business, I offer a unique cultural lens on Italian wine. I’m passionate about sharing the beauty and heritage of northeastern Italy with wine lovers from around the world.
